Recording artiste and songwriter Bugle easily stands out in the very crowded dancehall fraternity. With timeless lyrics and songs that play on the emotions of listeners, Bugle’s catalogue isn’t one that can be easily dismissed. One of the frontrunners of the DASECA Production label, Bugle’s soulful voice has been on fixture on the airwaves since 2007. Born Roy Thompson, he was introduced to music from an early age by his now deceased brother. However it was in 2000 that would begin his professional journey when he met international dancehall artiste Elephant Man where he would later pen a number of hits for the self styled Energy God.
Said Bugle “I got my musical exposure touring with Elephant Man. At first I started traveling to the Caribbean and then the United States where I made an appearance on BET’s 106 and Park show, as well as the BET Awards among other places.” Being the man behind the music however wasn’t enough for the ambitious singer who in 2007 was introduced to singer/producer Serani from DASECA. “Serani told me that he wanted to do some work with me, but he didn’t want to give me the idea. So I went out and thought about it and came back with the idea for Exercise and the rest is history.” The socially conscious Exercise (What I’m Gonna Do) became a massive hit and topped the charts in Jamaica, New York, South Florida and many other Caribbean countries. The song not only showed off Bugle’s writing abilities but his melodious and deep voice. From there the hits flowed like a river.
Songs including Doh featuring Serani, Love Reigns featuring reggae singer Tarrus Riley, What Have I Done to You, Journey, Supremacy, Scotch Bonnet, Pearly Gates and Summer Break featuring Chevaughn and Razz and Biggy kept Bugle’s name on the musical radar for an extended period. Apart from the Daseca production team, Bugle has worked with a number of producers including TJ Records, Chimney, CR203, Notice, and Frass Records among others. Performance wise, Bugle has toured Japan, the United States, Europe and the Caribbean.
He has performed at some of the biggest reggae music festivals including Jamaica’s Reggae Sumfest and Sting. Some of his most recent recordings include There For You for DJ Frass, Streets for Notice Productions, Loving Memory for Troyton Music, and It Mek Yuh Get Richer on DASECA’s ‘Exodus’ rhythm. “I have lots of music working on right now, the greatest challenge for me is that because of the fact that I'm doing real deep music, sometimes I don't get justice but hard work over comes all difficulties so I’ll continue to do good music and work hard.”
Bugle is currently being managed by Daseca and Major Links Entertainment out of the United States. In the summer of 2012 Bugle released a mix tape entitled Psalms. The project featured 43 tracks and is a journey through the artiste’s decorated career. Commenting on the mix tape, Bugle said ‘I think Psalms is one of the most informative chapters of the Bible so based on the content of this mix tape, I chose the word Psalms as the title”.
The mix tape was produced by Sean ‘Razz’ Cousley from the turntable/selecting duo of Razz and Biggy. Among those who appear on Psalms are Dillinger, Etana, Vybrant, Jahmiel, Proppa Fade, Ding Dong, Blak Diamond and Oriel.
In the wake of the mix tape, Bugle has been quite busy working with some of the top producers of the day including TJ Records, Daseca Productions, CR203 Productions, Notice Production, Romeich Records, UIM Records and Frass Records. Among his recent singles are Jah Be with You, Life Span, Only Human Live My Dream, and Rave til a Morning.

DELOREAN BIOGRAPHY

Ever seen someone who just looks like a star? What does a “star” even look like? Obviously something like 27 year old singer/songwriter DeLorean, People constantly stop him in public and tell him so. “What do you do?” they ask emphatically. Simply put, he was born to make great music; Although he’s been singing since he could talk, DeLorean has evolved into the complete musician he is today. He has cleared a lane for himself, honing his singing & songwriting skills and working on his own independent record companies Swagga Boyz Entertainment & Get It Grew.

Chicago, IL bred singer, songwriter DeLorean is quickly establishing his brand in the areas of business and music. Rarely does an entertainer experience success in business prior to being discovered, and without the usual prerequisites of celebrity parents or being groomed to do so. Since his early childhood DeLorean's had star quality. He exudes swagger and his facial expression says cheese even before he flashes his million dollar smile. He possesses the “it factor” that’s so hard to define but one word that encompasses his aura is greatness.

As a kid he admired R.Kelly, so by listening to him at an early age ignited a fire in DeLorean and he soon
discovered his own ability to reach people through song. We all know, or have seen, someone so gifted they can play instruments by ear and naturally sing on key. The only challenge that remains is sharpening their skills and learning the business, and the sky is the limit. DeLorean has accomplished both feats with no formal training. He began singing at 11 years old as just a hobby, but once he left chicago's greenline train at age 12 with $40 after singing for the first time publicly it became evident he was a special talent. While attending high school, working and trying to making it out of chicago's westside streets, he launched Swagga Boyz Entertainment (www.swaggaboyzentertainment.com) and has since accumulated more than some major artists in the same amount of time. Since then he has trained his mind and body for that purpose; rising before the sun to run, workout, and rehearse before rushing off to class. Staying fit and drug free helps him maintain his focus, leaving no time for anything not in harmony with his goal.

VYBZ KARTEL NOT GUILTY – ONE YEAR LATER

Last year , family, friends and fans of Adidja Palmer sat nervously waiting for a verdict in the then alleged murder of Barrington “Bossie” Burton. Objectively, anyone with a fourth grade education would have seen right through the Prosecution’s case and appreciated the judge’s wisdom in instructing the jury to come back with the verdict, the only sensible verdict; not guilty. However, there was a collective fear in every inner city that the presiding judge would not do the right thing, the brave thing and set the man who the status quo bourgeoisie Jamaica loves to hate, free, based on evidence or more accurately, lack thereof. Thankfully, the learned judge Bryan Sykes, did the right thing and an innocent man and his co-accused did not get unfairly sentenced; instead he was justly freed because the learned judge stood up for the law and did not give in to the powers that be who wanted to lock up Kartel and throw away the key without evidence. Unfortunately, society was to get another shot later in that year and many suspected regardless of the evidence or circumstances; many people feared that Vybz Kartel was going to pay for his music and for the influence he had on the poor people of Jamaica. Historically, only politicians have had that influence in Jamaica and any musician that challenged that power ended up dead or in trouble with the law – that is not an opinion, that is a historical fact. Fast forward, one year today. In the view of many, another judge did not do the right thing in the next trial and allowed obviously tampered evidence to be utilized to convict the same man. It became the sentiment in the inner cities of Jamaica that it just “had to go so because a Kartel.” Despite tampered evidence, despite missing evidence, despite the master CD (the only authentic piece of evidence that could validate the phone evidence) being mysteriously missing, despite the missing notebook of the lead arresting officer, despite the missing pages from witnesses’ statements, despite the DNA being negative, despite conflicting timelines, despite absent witnesses, despite no body, despite no murder weapon, despite the crime scene being left unsecured for days by the police, despite not even confirmation that Clive Williams is deceased, Adidja Palmer had to go to jail so society could get rid of him for the murder of a man who no one on the planet can show conclusive evidence that he is indeed dead. Yes, this happened, not in a KKK controlled courtroom to a black man in Jim Crow’s racist Mississippi in the 1960s but to a born Jamaican in Kingston, Jamaica in March 2014 in the plain view of the judiciary, human rights groups and the church who all said or did nothing.Read More: http://dancehallarena.com/vybz-kartel-guilty-one-year-later/

LIL' FLIP BIOGRAPHY

Lil' Flip, born Wesley Weston, hails from Cloverland, a community south of Houston that boasts a strong hip-hop contingent. The boy had a natural feel for language and rhyme; those around him were amazed by his impromptu rapid-fire verses. He attracted the attention of mix tape master DJ Screw, eventually joining his Screwed Up Click rhyming posse. The Texas native instantly won the respect of rappers across the Dirty South.

Weston could "flip styles" masterfully on Screw's mix tapes, earning both his artist name and the title of "Freestyle King." After being but a mere footnote on regional albums, Lil' Flip teamed up with concert promoter Duane "Humpty Hump" Hobbs and formed the indie label Sucka Free Records, immediately releasing the group effort Hustlaz Stackin' Endz in 1998.

lil' flip drops the leprechaun

Word of mouth alone helped the group sell 27,000 copies, just what Flip needed to go on a bold solo project. The Leprechaun sold over 100,000 copies in 2000, thanks to the smash single "I Can Do Dat."

Satisfied with his debut, Lil' Flip went back to honing his mixing skills, picking up where Screw left off after his untimely death. Flip put together no less than 10 mix CDs, each selling about 30,000 units.

lil' flip joins columbia records

Lil' Flip had the attention of those in the know, including the big labels. Columbia Records saw in him a big seller, and
bid the highest amount to acquire Sucka Free. Now he could tour as much as he wanted, his reputation spreading as far as Chicago and Detroit. But months before putting out his first major label album, Flip took some bullets to his side during a Houston drive-by.

lil' flip is an undaground legend

It was almost miraculous; Flip not only survived, he was released from the hospital the next day. Good thing,
because it was platinum time for the Texas rapper. Undaground Legend, his second solo album, surpassed the million mark and made it onto Billboard's Top 200 (at No. 12) and the hip-hop/R&B charts (at No. 4), thanks to hits like "The Way We Ball."

That was it for Lil' Flip; he no longer needed other rappers' names to be noticed. He was the name. His presence on David Banner's Mississippi: The Album helped shoot it to "smash hit" status, especially with the single "Like A Pimp."

flip releases u gotta feel me

In March 2004, Lil' Flip cemented his spot in hip-hop royalty with his third release, U Gotta Feel Me, abetted by appearances by Ludacris and Cam'ron. "Game Over" is a bouncing club groove with skillful sampling of sounds from Pac-Man games, "Sunshine" is a breezy summer track, and "Bring Da Pain" (a.k.a. "I Came To Bring the Pain") gets the crowd rowdy thanks to its fast beats and orchestral rhythms.

The album made it to platinum status in August, its success prompting EA Sports to use the groove "What's My Name" on NFL Street. Another Flip track, "I'm The Greatest Player," is featured on PS2's NBA Live 2004.

lil' flip enjoys some lucky nites

Today Flip is delving into the business side of music, founding his own label Clover G Records and releasing a pineapple-flavored liquor called Lucky Nites. Flip describes the drink by saying, "It tastes like an Amaretto Sour, but it's way stronger than that sh*t."

TOMMY LEE SPARTA BIOGRAPHY

Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica as Leroy Russell he first gathered inspiration to become a musician at an early age. While a student at Anchovy High school he performed at many gatherings there, as well as in his community, Flankers. He was strongly motivated by his home crowd to pursue a career as a professional in music. He took their advice and proceeded to record his first song, Spartan Story at Snipa studios in Flankers. He became a staple at the studio recording several tracks, Sparta Out At Night, Mama Mi Love You, Father Save Them Soul, Still Live On and his
break out hit, Warn Dem. The songs became well known and subsequently he became a household name in his local environs and was a prominent performer on stage shows throughout Western Jamaica.
Popular deejay Vybz Kartel noticed his talent during a performance in Montego Bay. Impressed by the budding star, it didn’t take long for him to initiate Tommy Lee a few months later. In March 2010 he became an official member of the Portmore Empire (Gaza).  He then recorded his first tunes under the teacher’s guidance: Holding Out The Pressure on the Gangsta City Riddim, Gypsy on the Teeza riddim and Money make Friends. His first major performance was at Reggae Sumfest 2011 alongside headliner, Vybz

Kartel and other Gaza members.
Tommy Lee Sparta broke out on his own at popular Reggae festival Sting, this was his first major solo performance. In 2012 his prominence in mainstream dancehall raised as he ga
ined his first number one record in the island. The hit song, Some Bwoy (link Pon Chain) climbed up to the top of the charts, making him the most anticipated new act for Reggae Sumfest 2012. He solidified himself as the break out act of the year leaving Sumfest with one of the best performances of the event.  He made another mark with, Psycho shooting straight to the top of the charts. The Olympic fever persuaded Tommy Lee Sparta to rerecord both of his chart toppers in honor of Jamaica’s Olympic team and track superstar, Usain Bolt. The remixes sparked immense attention and became unofficial sound tracks for Team Jamaica supporters.
Tommy Lee Sparta looks forward to taking Dancehall music to the pinnacle of the international stage by way of his versatility. His music is strongly influenced by different genres: reggae, dancehall, Hip Hop, Pop and rock. Artistes that have inspired him are: Vybz Kartel, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley among others. Many describe his style of music as Gothic dancehall. His lyrics and unique sounds are startling different and is grabbing the attention of many on his journey to success.
